East Providence, RI, November 18, 2025 – igus, Inc., a global leader in motion plastics and sustainable manufacturing solutions, marked a major milestone this week as it celebrated 40 years in the United States with a community tree-planting initiative, facility tour, and open house at its East Providence headquarters.

During the celebration, East Providence Mayor Roberto L. DaSilva presented Felix Brockmeyer, CEO of igus, Inc., with a key to the city, recognizing the company’s four decades of innovation, growth, and community partnership in Rhode Island.

The anniversary event featured the planting of 40 trees across Glenlyon Park and Kimberly Ann Rock Field, one for each year of igus’ U.S. presence. The initiative symbolizes the company’s ongoing commitment to environmental responsibility and local engagement. Guests and employees also participated in tours of igus’ recently expanded manufacturing facility at 275 Ferris Avenue, which now supports domestic production of its drylin® lead screw line and expanded linear bearing assembly operations.

“We’re deeply honored by this recognition from Mayor DaSilva and the City of East Providence,” said Felix Brockmeyer. “This milestone is not only a celebration of our past achievements but also a reflection of our continued commitment to growing here, creating jobs, expanding production, and supporting the community that has supported us for 40 years.”

igus’ expansion at its newly acquired 275 Ferris Avenue facility is the latest step in its long-term investment in U.S. manufacturing. The company’s local initiatives, including CO₂-neutral production, zero-lubrication product lines, and recycling programs, reflect its mission to improve what moves through sustainable innovation.

The successful anniversary celebration underscored igus’ dual commitment to environmental stewardship and economic growth in Rhode Island, paving the way for continued partnership with the city and state in the years ahead.
